The prestige cruise company of VIKING OCEAN CRUISES are opening new positions in the Galley department and they are in need for an Executive Pastry Chef and Sous Chef Pastry.
Executive Pastry Chef
Responsibilities
-leading and supporting a multi-cultural team of Galley personnel, ensuring the highest level of crew satisfaction and productivity.
– Assist the Executive Chef to prepare additional working schedules (Embarkation Day, Special Functions, etc) for Pastry/Bakery personnel.
– Ensures that the Pastry/Bakery Department is productive and operates with the least supervision required from the Executive Chef.
– Runs a disciplined department, being in full control of the pastry and bakery.
Qualifications
– Possesses good guest interaction skills and deals with feedback received.
– Must be able to read and speak English clearly in order to interpret and orate documents such as recipes and manuals to his team. Other languages are considered a plus.
– Must have a pleasant and courteous personality. Must be well groomed, and presentable.
Sous Chef Pastry
Responsibilities
– Overseeing the entire galley operation
– Monitor and constantly check all food preparation areas over the course of the day. -Required to control the Service Pass in all outlets for the opening and during service hours for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
-The Executive Sous Chef is the second in command of the Galley Operation and is in charge in absence of the Executive Chef. Will take over in the position of Executive Chef when need arises.
