Manila Amendments
All seafarers must meet STCW 2010 standards by 1 January 2017, that is to provide evidence of having maintained the required standard of competence within the past 5 years by either completion of training or refresher courses.

- Advanced Training
- Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats Refresher –
- Advanced Fire Fighting Refresher –
- Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats Refresher –
Seafarers also need to comply with new security training required for all grades of shipboard personnel as well as specific training and certification requirements for Ship Security Officers.
